Before I joined the volunteer team at the Sacramento LGBT Community Center in 2021, the organization's small but dedicated communications team was designing print collateral under strict budgets and tight timelines.
I volunteered my design skills to help them take their print material to the next level without blowing past printing budgets or deadlines – and I took the opportunity to give them a fresh new look that better reflected the dynamism and strength of the LGBTQA+ community in Sacramento.
Our work together began with the redesign of their annual impact report mailer. We transformed this piece from a 8.5 x 11 inch bifold brochure that needed to be stuffed into envelopes with each mailing to a trifold self-mailer that was more compact and far more convenient than its predecessor.
Additional work included a digital-friendly version of the impact report, a series of rack cards dedicated to the Center's wide array of programs, and partnership-specific reports designed to demonstrate the impact of their collaboration with other organizations in the community.
